The "New" Hollywood-911.com
By Jeff Kurzner @ 9:30 AM :: 4789 Views :: 0 Comments :: Article Rating

For last several years, Ron Scelza’s Hollywood-911.com has been an inexpensive resource to film industry professionals and service organizations. Due to increased expenses and a lack of time, Ron could no longer afford to maintain the site and provide this valuable resource for the membership. Fortunately, Ron found Jeff Kurzner's Mindshaft LLC through a mutual friend and the two agreed to try and keep Hollywood-911 going. The one thing they both committed to, was in keeping at least one level of free membership. Together they have retooled Hollywood-911.com into this new version. There will be some growing pains as the site is developed, but within a few months, it is hoped to have a more robust and easier to navigate resource portal.

We have transferred over as many of our previous members as possible, but we were not able to bring over the industry experience information. We realize that many of our users’ emails may have changed, and thus may not be aware of the new site. So please tell your friends.

What we need you to do to expedite the birth of this site, is to update your user profile. Please log-on to our site and make any modifications to your user information. This serves two purposes: 1) it tells us that you are a valid member and that your email address is correct. This will allow us to keep your record in our system. Within 6 months anyone whose record has not been updated will be purged and will have to re-register. 2) This updating will add your experience type to our database and make it searchable to the production companies. This is where you would identify your industry job type (i.e. make-up artist, wardrobe supervisor, Director of Photography, etc.)

You will also then be given access to make forum postings, search our job list, add resource links and more. Finally, and most hopefully, it will give you the opportunity to upgrade to one of our inexpensive, paid subscription types. Right now during our initial launch, all of our annual subscriptions are discounted by 30%.  We hope that this discount will allow us to quickly develop the user base and build the site more quickly.  This discount will be only available until October 1st 2005.
